Planning an outdoor summer wedding ceremony/event can be a magical experience, but it can also be a little tricky. Below are a few tips to help you ensure that your outdoor wedding ceremony is perfect:
Consider the weather: A dreamy outdoor summer wedding ceremony/event is what we hear about each year. However, summer weather can be UNPREDICTABLE, so make sure you have a solid backup plan in case of rain or extreme heat. With that being said, if your outdoor ceremony space doesn't have any covered space, consider renting a tent. Here's a cute little idea. If you plan to give your guests a ceremony program print the program on a cute little fan. Or, if your budget permits consider having your ushers or hosts hand out some of those cute little battery operated hand held fans. {Twist Insider} At a previous wedding we worked with the catering team and requested that they setup a mini water station. They setup 2-3 glass beverage dispensers of refreshing infused water. The Guests Loved It!!
Wedding Day Attire: Lets be for real, outdoor summer weddings can be HOT. When selecting attire, make sure you, your groom and bridal party all dress appropriately for the heat/weather. Lean more towards light, breathable fabrics, oh and consider a classy up-do to help keep cool.
Where's The Shade: If you're getting married during the day, consider choosing a venue that provides some level of shade for your guests. If it's not possible...{Twist Insider} wouldn't it be cute if you provided your ceremony guests with parasols?
Wedding Day Footwear: If you're getting married on grass or sand, it's a good idea to wear a flat to avoid sinking into the ground. A few years ago a Twist bride gifted her guests with cute little flip flops, and they were a huge hit.
That's it for now, but there's so much more to take into consideration. These 4 tips can certainly get you started with your summer wedding/event planning. As always, connect with an event pro to help you through the wedding planning process.
PS- adjust the event type and you can apply these tips to your outdoor bridal shower, birthday celebration or baby shower.
Happy Planning,
